Chair
Steve leads the club and is responsible for club strategy, vision and mission; delegating duties across the committee and leading the committee team. Also responsible for building and maintaining relationships with England Squash, city council, leagues and facility.
VICE-CHAIR & CLUB SECRETARY
As vice chair Haaris assumes responsibility of the Chair in the event they become temporarily or permanently unavailable. Also acting as Club Secretary he works in tandem with the chair, that manages the day-to-day business of the club, undertakes annual club registration, takes the minutes (notes) of committee meetings and is the club main contact. Also manages and ensures all memberships are paid on time by club members.
City of Manchester Squash Club was founded at the National Squash Centre following the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester. The National Squash Centre is home to the state of the art facilities and as well as a national hub for squash in the North West region.
TREASURER
Yamam is responsible for the management of the club’s finances, approving and making payments as they become due and keeping the committee up-to-date with the club’s financial position.
CLUB CAPTAIN CLSL
Sally manages the club’s team captains and vice-captains for the Cheshire Ladies Squash League, ensuring teams are selected, match day runs smoothly, subs are paid and results submitted.
CLUB CAPTAIN NWCSL
Haaris manages the club’s league team captains and vice-captains for North West Counties Squash League, ensuring teams are selected, match day runs smoothly, subs are paid and results submitted.
WELFARE OFFICER
Pat is responsible for safeguarding our members, particularly junior members and those that may be vulnerable. She is the first point of call for issues or concerns.
CLUB COACH
Brian assists with running and overseeing club training and match night sessions.
SOCIAL SECRETARY
Hannah is responsible for the organising and running of an inclusive social programme. Also responsible for club website and social media content.
TOURNAMENTS & EVENTS ORGANISER
Dan is responsible for running and managing tournaments and internal ladders/leagues at the club and for recruiting volunteers, if necessary.
COMMITTEE MEMBER
Ali attends meetings and supports the delivery of the club strategy. He also takes on ad-hoc duties if necessary and represents members’ views.
